Laser biostimulation involves exposing cells or tissue to low levels of red and near-infrared light. The light deeply penetrates the tissue without damaging it, and in fact, it helps to repair and regenerate the tissue. The energy induces a biological response in the cells called “photo-bio-modulation” which leads to reduced pain, reduced inflammation, and increased healing speed. It has been described as a “magical tool” which can reduce pain, improve wound healing, relieve muscle tension and regenerate nerves without the use of medications and their associated side effects. The fact that a specific wavelength of light is able to alter cellular behavior is called the “biomodulation effect” and it promotes an increase in the metabolism of our cells.
